The Hondo Rodeo Fest today announced its third major U.S. expansion, unveiling Tampa Bay as its next host market. Scheduled for Feb. 26-28, 2027, Hondo Rodeo Fest will take over Raymond James Stadium, home of the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, bringing its signature three-day, million-dollar rodeo competition, concert music series, and fan festival to an anticipated crowd of 50,000 fans.
The Hondo Rodeo Fest is a premier three-day event that brings together elite rodeo competition and nightly, full-length country music concerts, first launched in November 2024 at Chase Field in Phoenix. Built on a bold, invite-only format, the event features world champion cowboys and cowgirls competing across eight disciplines for a $1 million prize purse. Now entering its third year in Phoenix, Hondo continues to grow as a destination experience that blends the grit of rodeo with major live entertainment. Over the past two years, Hondo has welcomed top-tier performers including Cody Johnson, Jason Aldean, Nickelback and Creed, while also showcasing world-class rodeo talent, with past competing athletes including Tuff Cooper, Riley Webb, Hailey Kinsel, Kade Bruno, Lisa Lockhart, Sage Kimzey and John Crimber, solidifying its reputation as a must-attend event at the intersection of Western sports and music.
Hondo Rodeo Fest’s most recent expansion to New Orleans marked a major milestone for the brand, as the April 10-12, 2026, event transformed Caesars Superdome into a dynamic celebration of Western sports, music and culture. Drawing fans, athletes and notable guests from across the country, the three-day event featured elite rodeo competition with a $1 million purse, high-energy nightly concerts from top-tier artists, and an immersive fan street festival experience that brought the spirit of the West to the heart of the city. With strong local partnerships and standout attendance, the debut demonstrated Hondo’s ability to successfully enter new markets at scale- delivering both world-class entertainment and meaningful economic and cultural impact, and setting the stage for continued national growth.
“Expanding the Hondo Rodeo Fest to Tampa marks an exciting new chapter for us,” said Hondo Rodeo Fest CEO James Trawick. “We’re bringing the same high energy rodeo competition, western culture, and community spirit to Florida, and we can’t wait to welcome fans for an unforgettable experience in February 2027.”
The Hondo Rodeo Fest is expected to announce its Tampa artist lineup later in summer 2026.
